Adding a single target

Click Add Single Target.

Type the IP or DNS address of the target.

Select the type of target from the dropdown list (optional). If you leave this field as the default setting, HP SUM detects the type of target during the discovery process. If you select the correct target type, the discovery process is faster.

Type a brief description of the target (optional).

Enter the username and password.

	NOTE: The user must be part of the root group.

Select the checkbox if you want to validate the credentials and start the target discovery process when you create the target.

If HP SUM finds an update already running on the target, select whether to continue the update or cancel the update and use update planned in the current HP SUM session.

Click OK. This begins the discovery process of the target that is added.
